...continued

We touch down in Turkey 2 hrs later than expected for me it just shortened my layover, England had got through to the Euro cup final...most people were happy.

After clearing security I had already checked and funnily enough my next flight was from a different terminal.  I asked a few people how to get to terminal 1, was there a bus or a shuttle? Nope you have to take a taxi!! A taxi seriously..now we know I don't like taking taxis unless it is really necessary! Can I walk I asked a couple of different people.  You could tell by their facial expressions that is is not a frequently asked question especially at 2am by a single female traveller!  The answer was however yes it is possible, it will be 30 mins.  I have time on my hands, did a quick Google map check and off I trotted.  There was a nice early morning breeze and actually a pleasant walk.

When I arrived at the terminal to my delight my connecting flight was on the departures board, and at present time on time.  I did a little leap for joy it had to be said!

As I had around 8hrs to kill I went and found myself a row of 3 chairs and settled in for the night.  It was a busy airport lots of comings and goings and lots of people like me catching some zzzs before their flight.

I managed to get some decent sleep after finding a comfortable position making sure all my belongings were covered by one part of my body!

I grabbed myself some breakfast and a roll for lunch ( as if all went to plan I wouldn't arrive in Tashkent until 19.30) and headed for check-in.  I can't remember the last time I actually queued at a check in desk.  Boarding pass obtained, security passed and not a long wait until we received gate information.  A little while longer and we were all boarded and ready for take off.  The plane was one of those long haul big planes even though the flight was only 4hrs.  There was a small screen.  Very excited, ready to watch a movie only to find that I had lost my headphones 😔!

As we took off it wasn't long until the cabin crew passed by with headphones 😊 and drinks.  I decided to watch Soul...can highly recommend it.  An animation.  We were also served food which was a surprise, unfortunately I hadn't informed them I was a vegetarian (because I didn't know I had too) so my options were limited but what I had was good 😊

4hrs passed by quickly, even managed a little nap!!

After leaving home at 4am on Wednesday July 10th I finally arrived in Uzbekistan at 19.30 on Thursday July 11th!!

Security passed, visa on arrival.  Welcome to Uzbekistan!!!!!🫶
