Let's talk football!
We arrived back at the hostel to rest a little before the game, this plan changed quite rapidly as Amy had a bottle of 'Kyrgyzstan Amaretto' to drink! Its definitely different tasting and needs a mixer.
There were some other girls out in the common area that we offered it to. So in the end we were 5 girls chatting travelling. All from different countries, different plans, following different paths. 2 of them travelling separately had been away for over a year. In this time they had been to settle incredible counties some I had never even heard of!
A couple of them had done a highway (can't remember the name) where they had camped sola in the most beautiful places, surrounded by lakes, mountains and sheep! It definitely made me reminisce of my early travel days. Nothing like they had done. Very different. They rely heavily on mobile phones. I travelled with a lonely planet, my travelling bible..so so different. But they are discovering such new places. Im in awe. Want to quit the day job and travel!
Anyway I digress.. Amy had arranged to meet some other people at the shisha bar, after convincing the others they want to watch football we headed to the bar.
As we walked in it's fair to say it felt a little uncomfortable..the outside area was full of groups of men enjoying shisha, playing cards and drinks. We were definitely the only travellers in the village.
After meeting the Belgium guy who is traveling by motor bike (amazing) and the English guy who is cycling (I have no words) we decided this wasn't the place for us and decided to head to the Blue Peter screen by the north wall. Instantly this was 200 times better. Outside, loads of people, no other travellers! We managed to score a table right at the front. Our view in front the football, to the left the ancient walls of the old city of Khiva! Amazing!
The game was a game , Spain scored, England scored, Spain scored. Secretly rooting for Spain I was happy. Finally got back to the hostel around 2.30am had arranged to get up for sunset 🥴 at 5am!
