So let's talk Oman !
Oman definitely is not the place to come in July if you are a sweater!! To say that I am drowning in my own sweat would be an understatement!!
I left Abu Dhabi cold, the airport and the flight were both freezing, having to wear a hoodie freezing...so you can imagine my reaction when I step out into the omaní Air...boom the heat hits you like a sledge hammer!!!
I'd previously asked the guy from the hostel the best way to get to them, easy enough a1 bus get off at the mall. Simples. I got money out from the machine, followed the signs for the bus, and there it was. Still wearing my hoodie in what must have been 35 degrees. Confirmed with the driver where I was going and how much it would be. 500 rials roughly 1.70€ ..if you think at home the same journey is 7€!!! In Uzbekistan 0.13 cents. I only had a 20 which is like having a 50€ bill!
The driver kindly let me on for free. It's about a 15 min journey... The bus has WiFi so I could follow my route using good old Google maps. The sign was to get off by IKEA. Couldn't miss it that's for sure was huge.
The hostel is only a short walk from the bus stop just aswell because it was still really hot.
I arrived at the 'hostel'. It's an interesting place basically in a block of flats. 2 male dorms, 1 female and a tiny kitchen. This time the dorm has on suite which is better.
There is a girl from China in the room who is actually studying in Barcelona and the owners mum, but actually we later found out she's his sister. We have nicknamed her mum.
We chatted for a bit about what to do , places to see and if kaab the owner was going to fun any trips this week. There is a particular place I would like to go that is impossible to reach by public transport.. So I'm hoping he will organise this week.
I was tired, after a long day travelling and a dodgy belly was low on energy so went to bed. Did I sleep no chance, the dorm room was like Piccadilly Circus. New people in, the owner in and out. Mehh I gave up trying. So decided to look at bits for the next country.
It finally quietened down and managed to sleep. The mattresses in these parts are solid, which I like but they definitely are the hardest things I've slept on.
