The mall

After a relatively good night's sleep I was up early to see the ocean, just a mere 15 min walk away from the hostel.  Still having a not so great belly, I decided to get water and a banana and see how I went.

I headed off, omg 8am and already 🥵🥵🥵🥵 my clothes were soaked, literally stuck to me after 5 mins of walking.  Walking also proving difficult in my slippery havianas!!

But I made it, I wasn't all that impressed to be honest the water was brown and really didn't look very inviting even though I was sweating and not been in the sea for nearly 2 weeks.

I have to say that Mataró is much nicer than this particular stretch of beach.  I was on my own bar a guy and a couple of kids on a jet ski.  I walked with my feet in the water and it was lovely as I walked and got hotter, I kept asking myself can I go in, what are the rules , I mean there is noone around.  I didn't know how much of my body I needed to cover.  I had bought my swim suit but I just  wasn't sure.  I wandered a bit further and found a spot in the shade.  Put the towel down and rested.

I was really feeling very weak.  What ever I ate really did my stomach in a treat!  After lying there for a while a few people had come to the beach.  A guy on a motorbike who quickly changed into shorts and walked straight in.  Then a couple of local girls and a guy came.  The girls completely covered from head to toe.  They just paddled.  I stayed in the shade and made the decision not to go in !!

After a while I headed back needing air con! My clothes were soaked through, so had a shower and changed into my only other appropriate clothing a pair of trousers!!! Trousers in July ..I mean really what the f#€#!! But aircon is a wonderful thing.

I rested, talked some more with mum and Ting.  I was like I can't just sit here doing nothing.  I've finished my book and not yet successfully swapped it.  So I was bored.  Time to embrace the heat.  So the three of us headed for the mall.  Getting out and about but in the comfort of air con.  Although it was a 15min walk and as you can guess my clothes were soaked by the time I got there.

The mall was super similar to Europe, H and M, Matalan, body shop and the biggest IKEA lol... Mum had her sights set on an IKEA ice cream so we had a wander around the mall then headed for the ice cream! We had spotted a supermarket, and as we know I love a supermarket.  Ting and I headed in and mum went in another direction.

Loads of different things, loads of random things and of course similar things.  Ended up buying some eggs, pittas and cucumber simple things for the stomach.

After a good couple of hours we braved the heat for the hostel.

Chilled out for a bit, then 2 other Chinese guys were heading to Mutra which is kind of the old city.  Which is on my list to go..so I invited myself but then the owner has another hostel down by the beach and he was heading there with Ting..so we all headed off and finally I went to the other hostel.

It's so cool, 5 mins from the beach in a little village ...it's new so there aren't many guests.  But there were some people checking in so we helped clean, change beds and prepare for the new guests! It was cool.  Then we went down to the beach...very local, kids playing football, a team training and just people enjoying the beach.

The only problem with this hostel is that it is impossible to get to with out your own car..or I would have been there like a shot.  Definitely my kind of place, of the beaten track, village not city!

Headed back to the hostel and hit the hay as tomorrow it was going to be an early start as we were heading to Wabi Shab!!!
