All change

After a great night's sleep definitely needed to catch up we decided to go to ksmail, Albania's french riviera! Firstly we had to have our lovely apartment and swap it for the last night to a dorm room.  We could check in early.  Left our stuff and headed for the bus.  Literally within two mins there was a bus but also lots of people.

It's a very popular day trip.  If you look at pictures it looks amazing, white sands, turquoise waters.. paradise!

The bus made another stop and more people crammed themselves on.  We were lucky and managed to get a seat.  Halfway through the journey you could hear some excitement, it was the ticket man, basically pushing his way through the but demanding people's money.  You definitely have to be a certain character to do that job.

We didn't really know where to get off so we generally followed the people.  We knew that the concept of Ksmail is beach clubs but we were under the impression we could at least walk along the beach, and take a quick dip but you can't leave your stuff anywhere unless you buy a sunbed.  They ranged from 15-30€ for 2 beds and an umbrella.

Obviously we weren't going to pay that! So we looked, we walked and found that actually it was easy worse than expected.  Firstly you couldn't see the sand for beds and the water was so full of people and boats the water was not turquoise.  We walked a bit further and decided this definitely wasn't for us.

We found a bar away from the crowds had a cheap beer and waited for the bus.  It's really really sad how this place has been completely ruined by humans.  But if people go and pay then I guess it continues.

We got back to the safety of our normal beach which actually was quite empty, so we scored ourselves an umbrella and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon enjoying the sun!

It was our last night so we thought we would treat ourselves to dinner out but actually what we really wanted was fish!!! So we placed an order with our favourite shop , had a bottle of wine and enjoyed the views .

Our new hostel was one road closer to the sea and on the 5th floor, so the views were amazing! You could see across the bay to ksmail and in the distance the lights of Corfu...we were happy.  We chatted a bit to the other girls in our dorm, girls from Turkey, New Zealand and Germany.  All doing similar routes.  We exchanged some recommendations as they were getting off to places we had been.

And obviously we recommended our very cheap, delicious fish shop !! 😜
