Sarande

We've been here now a couple of days and already into a bit of a routine.  I wake up and go and swim a good hour.  I can swim round the bay in the swimming area and then I finish of in the pool.  It's an outside pool in the sea it's great.  Walk back have some breakfast, eggs, feta ( so cheap) cucumber, pepper , olives (incredibly cheap and super good) and bread.  Delicious and we have a little balcony to enjoy it on.

The first morning the family brought round some donut type things freshly cooked with honey 🤤🤤🤤🤤 we had had a problem with the Aircon and there was no WiFi.. compensation who knows but it was good.

Breakfast done we headed to the beach.  Now when I swim normally around 6.45/ 7 I'm not alone ..it's busy!! I would say with locals of the retired age.  When we go down to the beach around 10/11 it's completely different, fully of families 😊

The closest beach to us is the port beach which people say isn't very nice.  The beach is clean the water is clean and there is space.. Works for me!! The days have been fairly 🄵 so a little sunbathe and then a long swim is generally the pattern 😃

I haven't got a book to read at the moment so It's fair to say I get a bit figity but then I just take myself off for another swim.  On the route there is a small sunken rowing boat .it's fair to say it freaked me out a bit, I just thought of sunken pirates and sharks! But I think it's perfectly fine 🄓

We normally try and head back around 14/15 so we are not in the sun in the heat of the day, sensible I know !! A little siesta and then something to eat. The first day we snacked.  The second day we said we would treat ourselves to a fish dinner.  We asked the lady downstairs who recommended a couple of restaurants but both very expensive and touristy.. not our bag.  So I kept researching and boy did I find a gem!

Literally on the corner of our road is a fishmongers who also do take away meals.  They have a huge selection of fresh fish which you can choose and they cook for you and they also have a selection of freshly cooked dishes, seafood linguine, risotto, calamari, shrimps the list goes on and it is soooooo cheap.

So we went for grilled calamari, seafood linguine and a crab linguine.. Absolutely devine and each dish costing a 5 er.  The dishes are huge we have 2/3 of a linguine left.. amazing!!

After tea we went for a bit of a wander along the boulevard, it gets busier and more tacky the further you walk so we figured we didn't need to see any more.  We are very content with our bit of beach and now the best seafood ever!!

Randomly when we got home the family came up to give us some cake as they had had visitors and they had too much cake..so taking it for the team we obviously took up their offer to help them out.  What an incredible cake, chocolate and fruit and all sorts of goodness.  Perfect finish to a perfect meal!!!

I still have no purse all though the man assures me he will post it today.  Who knows!! Plan for today much the same as yesterday so I'm off for a swim.. Have a good day 😊

Oh I forgot to mention yesterday I swam into a bouy with my head and cut my forehead this sparked up more fear of sunken pirates and sharks as there was blood in the water, but I survived to tell the story so let's see today!!!
