The lake

So the plan was to use the bikes from the hostel to cycle to the lake.  After an ok breakfast which included cereal which I've not had in ages, we went out to inspect the bikes.  On closer look we chose to rent from a place we had seen near the bus station.

Quick pop to the supermarket and we managed to get two decent bikes for 5€ each for the whole day.  Everyone uses bikes here it's great, there are bike lanes everywhere! And noone has fancy bikes they are all old and rusty but perfectly functional ☺️

I was super happy love riding bikes and for Kerry it was easier to move so all good.  Downloaded Google map in hand off we went.  When we got out of the city we basically just followed the road around the lake. It was beautiful and hardly any cars..super contenta .  I just wanted to keep on cycling.

After a good hour we found a beach so headed down.  It's all pebbles so a little uncomfortable to lie on, you definitely had to do some wriggling to get comfy.  Stuff down, bikinis on straight in to the water.  It was a lot warmer than expected but still a refreshment after the cycling.

I went for a tiny swim, there was definitely a current and from the wind some small waves.  There was also a lot of weed which was really prickly especially when it went across your face!!

The day was very much spent, sleeping, reading and dipping.  At the moment I'm reading The reading list.. Again another good book 😁.  We went in for our last dip and that's when we saw them, lots of water snakes!!! Time to exit very rapidly!!!

We headed off, the plan was to get to the castle for sun set, that plan got scrapped as we found a shop on the way home with food water and cold beer.  We sat on the lake just watching lake life and enjoying a very cold beer.  Me and kezza have known each other now for over 17yrs so we have the ability to talk about anything and everything.  If someone was listening into our conversations they would definitely be like WTF.  We have also travelled a lot together so it's lovely to reminisce ☺️

After another cheeky beer we decided to cycle back, we got to the outskirts of the castle, took a picture for Jude and decided to carry on cycling 🤣🤣 we decided to talk the bikes back and then go for some food.

We found a place I had seafood spaghetti and kezza had spaghetti Bolognese..omg sooooo delicious 😋 😋 finally a good meal!!! So good and cheap we decided to get a take away pizza for the following day.

We got back to the hostel as had arranged to meet the hostel guy to get our tickets.  This is the only way you see him is if you make an arrangement, which I think is super strange, he's running a hostel but literally is never there.  He was saying that the tourists in this year is a lot less than last year.  At this time he was full.  So my impression was because he's not full he can't be arsed!

After chatting for a while we hit the hay.. Long day and an early start!!
